An introduction to the new Universal Credit.
Universal Credit is a new benefit to replace means tested benefits for working age single people and families. It will eventually replace Income Support, income-based Jobseekers Allowance, income-related Employment & Support Allowance, Housing Benefit, Child & Working Tax Credits.
This Universal Credit Training Course looks at the main points of this new benefit, which has already started to be rolled out across the County and will shortly be extended to capture a wider range of claimants. We will look at how Universal Credit will differ from the currrent system, with particular regard to potentially difficult issues for claimants and lessons learned from it's introduction to date.
Participants should gain an understanding of the theory and practical issues relating to Universal Credit. This course has been developed for non-benefit specialist professionals, whose service users will be affected by the changes.
Previous participants have consistantly rated this course as "very good" - one stating "this is the most useful and best delivered training I have ever been on. Thank you".
