An introduction to the Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
Personal Independence Payments (PIP) replaced Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for all working age claimants from June 2013; as existing claims for DLA have come up for renewal they have been transferred to PIP and from October 2015 all other existing DLA claims for working age claimants are now being transferred to PIP.
This course explains the main features of PIP - the claims and assessment processes, qualifying criteria and rates of award and how these differ from the existing DLA benefit. we will also examine some of the issues relating to entitlement that have come up following the introduction of this new benefit.
Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of disability benefits. Having completed this training participants should achieve a good understanding of PIP to a level that they can confidently assist to complete PIP forms.
